At Mr. Fix It Idaho, we recently took on a project that involved a fireplace mantle replacement. We removed an outdated, orange-looking mantle from above a fireplace and replaced it with a modern faux beam. This beam was expertly crafted from vertical grain hemlock, mitered three-ways to give it a seamless, solid-beam look. To finish it off, we stained the wood and sealed it with a flat clear coat, achieving a luxury non-shiny finish.
